Managing growth means endless focus on SC friction. Ken Allen of HEB Grocery Stores described many ogoing challenges supplying products in Mexico – local customs, changing labeling requirements, tariff wars (China on Tuna, US/Mexico on sugar – soft drinks fell into the dispute because of the high sugar content). Changes happen overnight with media events and political changes. Supplying to these markets means significant ongoing supply chain efforts. HEB maintains a SC team that is quickly activated to address these issues. |
